Ways to Make Coconut Milk at Home

The Simple Ways to Prepare Coconut Milk at Home . Also, do you want to add a dose of richness to your food? Want to make your meal more nutritious and healthy? Then coconut milk is something you must try! The  coconut milk you buy from the market is not pure or healthy. How about making coconut milk directly from your home?

Coconuts are high in nutrients, as well as fiber, vitamins and minerals . They are a rich source of vitamins C , E , B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including Iron , Selenium , Sodium , Calcium , Magnesium , Manganese and Phosphorus .

Coconut contains high amounts of healthy fatty acids such as lauric acid, also found in breast milk, and caprylic acid, known for its potent antiviral and antifungal properties. Manganese is essential for metabolism and collagen formation and helps maintain normal blood pressure . Copper plays a big role in immunity and bone health, and selenium is critical for thyroid function, as well as skin , nails , and hair health .

In addition, coconut milk, unlike cow’s milk, does not contain lactose. This makes it an excellent milk substitute, especially for vegans (people who avoid milk and dairy products in addition to animal foods) and those who are lactose intolerant.

If you prefer canned coconut milk , you could be exposing yourself to the toxic BPA (bisphenol-A), a human endocrine disruptor known to be a likely carcinogen, which is found in the lining of cans. This carcinogen can enter coconut milk , making it unsafe.

Coconut milk in Tetra-type packaging comes with its own set of health risks . If it’s not fresh, it can be bad for your gut health, and if it’s fortified, it can cause allergies and digestive problems. So, the best option remains homemade coconut milk which is fresher, less processed and healthier and also friendlier to your wallet.

Homemade coconut milk made from dried coconuts is much richer in vitamins , food enzymes, and nutrients than canned coconut milk. There are many ways to make coconut milk . However, in this post we are going to talk about the most common methods. You can also opt for fermenting coconut milk to make coconut yogurt . This way, you’ll get even more protein and nutrition, along with a healthy dose of probiotics for better digestion. So, check out  The 3 Ways to Make Coconut Milk at Home .
