How to Prepare Healthy Syrups at Home is a great option to prevent, alleviate, and even treat many diseases that we are exposed to every day at all times. In addition, natural syrups have always been one of the best remedies to combat the symptoms of health conditions that compromise the respiratory system. They combine the qualities of various organic ingredients to strengthen the immune system and reduce discomfort in the throat and nasal passages, among others. Although nowadays there are several pharmacological treatments with the same purpose, there are those who prefer to use alternative solutions because they consider them much more effective and economical.Insomnia: It is the lack of sleep  or the difficulty of maintaining a peaceful and continuous night of rest. Usually the causes of insomnia  are stress  and worries.Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon dried valerian roots, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon balm leaves
  • 1 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • Place the herbs in a bowl and cover with honey .
  • Cover and let rest for 24 hours.
  • Squeeze the herbs and strain.
  • Take 2 tablespoons 30 minutes before bedtime.

Flu:  Caused by a virus, it infects the airways and, if left untreated, can trigger sinusitis  or pneumonia. The main symptoms are: tiredness, indisposition, headache  and body aches , fever and runny nose.

Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh guaco leaves
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of  filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons of pure lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • Bring the guaco and water  to a boil in a kettle for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, cover, wait to cool and strain.
  • Mix lemon  and honey .
  • Take 2 tablespoons per day.

Sore throat: Inflammation is a response to the body’s low immunity. In cases of acute inflammation, control is done with antibiotics, which must be used with a doctor’s prescription.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of orange blossoms
  • lemon  , peeled, cut into quarters
  • 3 peeled garlic cloves  _
  • 1 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • In a pot, gather the ingredients, except the honey , and knead with the handle of a spoon.
  • Mix the honey , cover and let it rest for 12 hours.
  • Strain, squeezing well.
  • Take 3 tablespoons of the syrup a day.

Tonsillitis:  Caused by impurities and bacteria, excessive intake of alcoholic beverages or consumption of very hot or cold foods  , tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils.

Ingredients:

  • 2  peeled garlic cloves  _
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of dried sage flowers
  • 1 tablespoon white rose petals
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • In a glass, mash the garlic , basil, sage and rose petals with the handle of a spoon.
  • Pour the honey , cover and let it rest for 12 hours, in an airy place.
  • Strain, squeezing well, and take 1 spoon (coffee) 3 times a day.

Aphonia: Partial or total loss of voice, this problem usually occurs after tonsillitis, bronchitis, pharyngitis, flu  or laryngitis.

Ingredients:

Preparation mode:

  • In a pan, place the carrot , pineapple  and water .
  • Place over low heat, stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and wait for it to cool. Strain and mix the honey .
  • Take 4 tablespoons per day.

Lack of Appetite: Lack of food can generate weakness, anemia , weakness, difficulty concentrating, memory loss, gastritis, etc.

Ingredients:

  • 2 radishes, chopped
  • 1 cup (tea) chicory
  • 2 cups (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • Mix the radishes and chicory in a pan and mash with a wooden spoon.
  • Cover with honey  and mix.
  • Place in the fridge and let it rest for 8 hours.
  • Strain and take 1 tablespoon every 6 hours.

Anemia: It is a failure in the production of red blood cells in the bloodstream, mainly caused by a deficient diet in some nutrients, especially iron , which is quite present in red meat and other animal products.

Ingredients:

  • 2  grated beets
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of water

Preparation mode:

  • Put all the ingredients in a pan (preferably iron ) and bring to a boil for 10 minutes.
  • Allow to cool, strain and take 1 tablespoon every 8 hours.

Cough: It is the body’s defense against irritations that occur in the respiratory system. But it can also be a sign of more serious diseases  like lung cancer . Therefore, if the cough  persists for more than 3 consecutive days, consult a doctor.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium slice of  unpeeled pineapple
  • 1 cup (tea) of water
  • 10 drops of propolis
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Preparation mode:

Heartburn: Characterized by a burning sensation in the stomach , heartburn  is caused by changes in gastric juice and also by the return of this liquid to the esophagus (reflux).

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh fennel leaves and seeds
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • Place the mint  and fennel in a pot and mash it with a pestle or the handle of a spoon until it becomes a paste.
  • Add the honey , mix and let it rest in the fridge for 6 hours.
  • Strain and take 1 tablespoon every 10 hours.

Poor Digestion: Excessive eating, fluid intake during meals and insufficient chewing are the main causes of the problem, which can trigger heartburn , gas and stomach pain .

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram leaves
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of honey

Preparation mode:

  • Mash the marjoram leaves well in a bowl.
  • Add the honey , mix and let it sit for 12 hours.
  • Strain and take 1 tablespoon 15 minutes after main meals (lunch and dinner).
