4 Ways to Treat Headaches in 30 Minutes!

The ways to treat headache work, as it is one of the most common conditions in the world, according to the Migraine Research Foundation . Migraines can run in families with children and adults known to have them. In America, the Migraine Research Foundation estimates that nearly 12 percent of people suffer from migraines .

Migraine headaches are not simply a severe headache  . Migraines are part of a neurological condition and often have other symptoms, including:

  • Nausea;
  • vomiting;
  • Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet;
  • Visual changes;
  • Sensitivity to sound, light or smell.
  • red skin .

Migraines can be a debilitating and chronic condition that can affect some people’s daily lives . There are many different medications used to treat headache  but some people prefer to use natural treatments as alternatives or to complement medical treatment.

Ways to treat headache:

1. Acupressure:

Acupressure involves applying pressure to specific parts of the body. It is believed to stimulate specific points on the body to release muscle tension and relieve pain. A popular pressure point is the LI-4 point in the space between the base of the left thumb and index finger.

Applying firm but non-painful circular pressure to the LI-4 point using the opposite hand for 5 minutes can treat the headache . A 2012 study looked at 40 people who had migraines without aura. Pressure on the PCP acu point, located three fingers from the base of the wrist on the inside of the arm, was found to be effective in relieving nausea or vomiting associated with migraine.

2. Diet Changes:

Many people who have migraines realize certain foods can trigger them. Common food triggers include:

  • Also, processed foods;
  • Red wine;
  • Also, alcohol;
  • Chocolate;
  • Also, caffeinated drinks.

Being aware of what might be triggering a migraine is critical. Also, some people use a food diary or migraine diary to keep track of possible triggers. Changing diet or eating patterns to avoid triggers can help treat the headache .

3. Essential oils:

Essential oils are often used as natural remedies or as antimicrobials in homemade cleaning products. Additionally, lavender is an essential oil , often recommended as a remedy for anxiety.

Another small study published in European Neurology found that inhaling lavender oil helped treat headaches  in some people. Furthermore, the results are encouraging, but further research using larger samples is needed.

4. Ginger:

A 2014 study of 100 participants compared the effectiveness of ginger powder to sumatriptan, a common headache medication . Furthermore, the researchers found that the effectiveness of ginger  was statistically comparable to sumatriptan, and users were just as willing to continue with the treatment.
