What it is: It is a dysregulation of the intestine that causes frequent watery stools, stomachaches and tiredness. It can be caused by several factors such as excessive increase in intestinal flora , side effects of medications , viral or bacterial infections (infectious diarrhea) or lactose intolerance.

Intestinal Transit Decreases:  loperamide-based drugs . These drugs  cannot be taken for a long time (2 days maximum), except in cases of medical recommendation, since they are constipating (the objective) and consequently keep pathogenic substances that must be eliminated. The use of medications  containing loperamine is not advisable during Diarrhea  caused by medication side effects (eg, caused by an antibiotic ).

Adsorbent of Infectious Agents: charcoal-based drugs  have the function of adsorbing toxic substances (generally released by bacteria) to the gastrointestinal system, they are necessary in case of Gastroenteritis .
