Gentian violet: what it is, indications and how to use it!

Gentian violet is the  active substance of an antifungal medication commonly used to treat candidiasis . For topical use, it also acts as an antiseptic, being beneficial to prevent the disease from getting complicated due to the proliferation of bacteria and fungi.

The drug is easily absorbed, quickly improving symptoms such as itching, redness and burning, common in the disease. In addition, gentian violet  carries beneficial health properties.

Indications of Gentian Violet?

Although few people know this, the plant has a number of indications for people’s health, being considered one of the natural treatments available to provide the cure or relief of many diseases.

1. Relieves fever:

If you want to have hair  with a purplish tone and you want to use this product for that purpose, then you need to know how to dye your hair with gentian violet . Before going out to dye your entire hair  , however, make a section at the back of your neck to ensure that the result is as you expect.

If you don’t have previously bleached hair then you will need to leave it in a lighter shade. As gentian violet  is not a product that causes physical changes to the hair , it will not be able to structurally change the color. Instead, it will just create a colored “cover” on the strands.

So the lighter the wires are, the better. You can pre-bleach or just lighten a few shades. If your strands are very dark, the best you’ll get is a slightly purplish shade.

How to use gentian violet?

1. hydration with gentian violet:

Ingredients:

– 3 spoons of hair mask (white color);
– 2 drops of gentian violet;
– Gloves;

Preparation method:

• Combine the white hair mask with the gentian violet and mix until a homogeneous color is achieved.

Application:

• Before you start, put on gloves so you don’t run the risk of staining your hands.
• Then apply to clean, damp hair, massaging.
• Let it act for at least two minutes.
• Then, rinse with water until all the cream comes out of the hair.
• Repeat this recipe until you see that the hair  has reached the desired shade.

2. Shampoo with Gentian Violet:

Ingredients:

– 1 shampoo bottle of 350 ml (white);
– 10 drops of gentian violet;

Preparation method:

1. Combine all ingredients in a plastic container and mix well.
2. Then return the contents of the mixture to the original shampoo bottle.

Application:

• You can use the product as you would a regular shampoo.
• Don’t forget to shake the bottle every time before using.
• In addition to removing the yellow tone, this solution helps prevent hair  from turning yellow over time.

3. Conditioner with gentian violet:

Ingredients:

– 1 bottle of conditioner 350ml (white);
– 10 drops of gentian violet;

Preparation method:

1. Place the two ingredients in a plastic container and mix well.
2. After putting the two together you can return everything to the original conditioner bottle.

Application:

• Use in the same way as you do with the conditioner, normally after using the shampoo.
• Shake the bottle before use. The conditioner also works to remove the yellowness and maintain the hair with the most beautiful color, without the dull yellow tones.

Gentian violet side effects and contraindications:

• Prolonged use of Application:  may lead to the occurrence of some side effects such as intense itching, skin irritation , presence of ulcer and permanent stains on the skin .
• The use is contraindicated for women who are lactating or who have a risk pregnancy , people with ulcerative lesions and people with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
