How to Prepare Green Tea with Leaves: The preparation of Green Tea is different from the Black Tea that we make at home. It requires a few simple steps. When making Green Tea , keep in mind that if the tea leavesare steeped in water with a temperature of more than 90°C, they will become bitter. So keep in mind for the water so hot.
So what you will need:
- Green Tea Leaves – the basic amount would be 1 teaspoon for a 1 cup of Green Tea
- A Tea Filter (washed and dried)
- A glass
- A stainless steel pot
- Water
Step 1: Take a teaspoon of green tea leaves . Even if you are making it for the whole family, keep in mind that you should put a teaspoon of tea leaves for each cup.
Step 2: Now, take the tea leaves in a strainer/sieve and keep aside.
Step 3: Now take a stainless steel pot and boil water. The ideal temperature for Green Tea is 80°C to 85°C. You need to bring the water close to boiling point, but not boil. If it accidentally starts to boil, turn off the heat and let it cool down a bit, then it’s ready to use.
Step 4: Now place the cup/mug in which you want to make the tea . Take a sieve/sieve and place it over the glass or mug.
Step 5: We need to leave the hot water in the cup and let the tea rest for 3 minutes maximum. This step requires great care. Not everyone likes a strong drink, so drink a teaspoon every 30/45 seconds to find out if the taste is right.
Step 6: Now remove the sieve once you are sure of the flavor (or 3 minutes have passed). Add some sugar (½ tsp) or if you want a healthy choice, add some honey (1 tsp).
Step 7: Stir the sugar/honey and let the drink cool for a few seconds and enjoy your cup of Green Tea .
How to make Green Tea with Powder: Some can make tea using green tea powder that is available in the market. So here’s an easy way to do it using Green Tea Powder .
You’ll need:
- Green Tea Powder – 1 and ½ teaspoons
- Water – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 teaspoon (tsp)
Step 1: Pour a glass of water into a stainless steel bowl or glass bowl and heat it up. Remember that Green Tea becomes bitter when it is heated beyond the limit, so you must keep control over the temperature. Use a kitchen thermometer to see if it is around 85°C.
Step 2: Turn off the heat when it reaches boiling point. Now let it cool for a few seconds.
Step 3: Add the Green Tea powder to the water. The ideal time to soak is about 3 minutes, but you can take a sip after ½ minutes to see if the flavor is strong enough.
Step 4: After 3 minutes, the color should have changed to brown. Strain the tea powder using a strainer.
Step 5: Add sugar or honey to the tea and pour it into the cup. You can also add a pinch of cardamom powder for a distinctive flavor. If you are on a diet , use 1 teaspoon of honey as a substitute for sugar .
