What are the side effects of Yaz? – how to take and contraindications!

Side effects of yaz are headaches , nausea , breast tenderness, and spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods. In general, these problems, particularly nausea and vomiting , should subside within the first three months after taking the drug.

Some side effects, such as irregular bleeding, breast tenderness, and headaches , are usually mild and tend to go away over time. Others, such as blood clots, stroke , heart attack, and gallbladder disease , are more serious and can lead to death.

Additionally, women at high risk of spot clots should also avoid Yaz, including those with a history of spot clots, stroke or heart attack, those with uncontrolled blood pressure, and those with migraine with aura.

What is Yaz?

Yaz is a combined contraceptive pill that contains female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary).

In addition, it also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining , making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus .

For what is used ?

Yaz is used as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. It is also used to treat  moderate acne  in women at least 14 years of age who have started menstruating and who want to use birth control pills.

Yaz is also used to treat symptoms of premenstrual dysphonic disorder (PMDD) such as  anxiety ,  depression , irritability, difficulty concentrating, lack of energy, changes in sleep or appetite, breast tenderness, joint or muscle pain,  pain headache  and weight gain.

Can I get pregnant while taking Yaz?

Yes, many women can get pregnant while taking Yaz, but their babies also have birth defects.

Yaz side effects:

Get emergency medical help if you have side effects of yaz such as hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Heavy non-menstrual vaginal bleeding;

3. Excess fat in the blood;
4. High levels of potassium in the blood;
5. porphyria;
6. depression ;
7. Clot in the small veins that carry blood to or from the retina of the eye;
8. Heart attack;
9. Coronary artery disease;
10. Clot in the lung;
11. Leak.
