Fever is more common in children than in adults, as their immune system is in full development and does not respond as strongly as it does in adulthood. Many people turn to painkillers and antipyretics to reduce the temperature.

1. Holy thistle tea:

  • Place the chopped leaves  of thistle in a pan and add the  boiling water . Then cover, let it rest for 3 to 5 minutes, filter and drink 1 cup of this tea . You can drink up to 1 liter of this tea  a day.

2. Basil Tea:

Basil tea  is warm  because it induces sweating, helping to regulate body temperature.



  • Put the ingredients in a pan and bring to the low fire, letting it boil for about 5 minutes, properly covered. Then let it cool down, filter and drink.
  • One can drink basil tea  4  to 5 times a day to lower fever . However, it is important to wet a cold towel and rub the individual’s armpits, forehead, and back of neck to help bring down the fever . Basil tea  should not  be consumed during pregnancy.

3. Willow tea:

  • Add the boiling water  to a container where the herbs are, cover it and leave the tea  to infuse for approximately 10 minutes. Strain and drink 1 cup of this tea  next, for about 3 to 4 times a day.

5. Potato:

Potato has anti -inflammatory properties and enzymes that can help in the treatment to reduce fever. To do this, macerate a cold potato  , cut into small pieces, place it on the forehead and let it act for 10 or 15 minutes.

6. Onion:

This onion remedy consists of cutting an onion  into rings and placing it on the ground. Afterwards, the person with a fever steps on the onion  barefoot and stays like that for half an hour. If using this remedy in children, place the slices on the soles of the feet and cover with socks.

7. Eucalyptus tea:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 50 g of ash bark
