Pineapple Side Effects What may be beneficial for some may be harmful for others. When was the last time you had a pineapple ? OK. Let me put it another way. How often do you eat pineapple ? And how many? You must be thinking that all these questions are meaningless. But calm down, it’s not like that.Like everyone else, I considered pineapples to be the best of the best fruits. I thought they were nature’s species with near-perfect qualities. But then I realized how wrong I was. I agree that Pineapple is a beautiful fruit. But like other fruits, it has its share of side effects if you consume too much. So, check out now  The 6 Pineapple Side Effects: 

Allergy:

What it is: Pineapple  consumption can cause allergic reactions in some people.

How:  Pineapple has meat tenderizing properties And these are the properties that can trigger allergic reactions. Although these reactions resolve themselves within a few hours by themselves. But if not, a doctor should be consulted immediately.

Symptoms:  Swelling of the lips and a tingling sensation in the throat .

Blood Sugar Levels:

What it is: The  Side Effects of Pineapples . Pineapples have  been found to increase blood sugar levels. This, of course, can pose complications.

How:  Pineapples are one of those fruits with very high natural sugars. And because of this, they raise the blood sugar levels in our body. Most fruits contain carbohydrates and these can also raise blood sugar levels. ½ cup of pineapples has 15 grams of carbohydrates.

Symptoms:  Headaches , increased thirst and frequent urination.

What it is:  Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple juice and stem . This enzyme is one of the  Side Effects for causing reactions in our bodies when we consume Pineapple .

How:  Bromelain has the ability to increase the amount of certain antibiotics absorbed by the body. And when bromelain is consumed with anti-platelet agents, it can increase the risk of bleeding.

Symptoms:  Nausea , Diarrhea and Indigestion .

Drug interactions:

What it is:  Pineapple can even interfere or interact with certain types of medications or drugs. This can lead to high side effects and other problems.

How:  When a fresh pineapple is combined with certain antibiotics, such as amoxicillin and tetracycline, it can lead to an increase in the side effects caused by these antibiotics.

Symptoms:  Symptoms of amoxicillin include chest pain, bloody nose, chills, fever , dizziness, etc.

Teeth damage:

What it is:  Although pineapple is a healthy and delicious fruit, it can cause tooth desensitization or tooth decay.

How:  Fruits like Pineapple which are highly acidic in nature and start a chemical process in the mouth when consumed. This softens the enamel and leads to tooth decay.

Symptoms:  Toothache and extreme sensitivity when taking hot or cold foods.

Oral Allergy Syndrome:

What it is:  Oral allergy syndrome is nothing more than an allergy to airborne particles such as dust and pollen.

How:  This phenomenon occurs when our body’s immune system mistakes pineapple protein for pollen or any other allergen. As a result of this, reactions take place inside the body.

Symptoms:  Irritation or itching of the tongue for some time after consuming a Pineapple .
Everyone says that no human being is perfect. Probably the same applies to fruit as well. Depending on the state of your health, some fruits may be desirable and healthy and some may not.

All the aforementioned side effects are from over-consumption of Pineapple ! While I don’t mean that pineapples are ‘bad’ or ‘poisonous’, they do have their own set of Side Effects and should be consumed in moderation.
