Sore Throat – What it is, Causes, Symptoms that everyone should know. Also, sore throat is a symptom of certain conditions such as colds , pharyngitis , tonsillitis or infectious diseases such as mononucleosis. Sore throat  can also occur from contact with environmental contaminants, screaming or temperature changes. It is usually easy to treat and symptoms such as swelling and pain, however quickly disappear in case of irritation with fever , discharge and sneezing for more than three days, you need to visit a doctor.

Causes:  The throat functionsas a variety of passageway for substances, which makes it more vulnerable to infections and inflammation. Some of the causes of Sore Throat are:

  • Flu and colds .
  • allergies.
  • Sudden changes in temperature.
  • Virus or bacterial infections.
  • Smoke.
  • Being exposed to toxic substances.
  • Mononucleosis or kissing disease.
  • Tonsillitis , pharyngitis and laryngitis.
  • Shouting or talking for a long time.
  • Breathing mouth as the throat comes in direct contact with microorganisms that can cause irritation.
  • Poor oral hygiene.

Symptoms  If irritation is a symptom and occurs mainly during the winter, you can also feel it when you wake up Sore Throat , thanks to the dry air generated at that time. Other symptoms that may accompany irritation are:

  • Hoarseness.
  • Inflammation.
  • Redness.
  • Voice loss.
  • Tingling.
  • pain when swallowing.
  • If it is because of tonsillitis , irritation will be accompanied by fever .
  • If Irritable Throat pharyngitis is caused by the sense of taste is altered, you experience headache and a feeling of something stuck in your throat .


  • 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped sage leaves.
  • ½ liter of water.

Preparation:  Boil the ingredients and wait for it to cool. Strain and gargle with the tea. Repeat this every two hours.
