Heat stroke is caused by the failure of the brain ‘s “thermostat” due to prolonged exposure to strong heat or very high fever from diseases such as malaria. The body soon becomes overheated. It may or may not be related to physical activity.

The latter is known as the classic form and generally affects patients with medical conditions that prevent cooling and, therefore, there is no mechanism to protect against ambient heat.

How to Identify Heat Stroke: History of prolonged exposure to heat associated with:

  • Headache ;
  • seasickness;
  • dizziness;
  • reddened face;
  • Hot and dry skin;
  • There is no sweat, despite the hot body;
  • Rapid pulse, (90 to 110 beats).

Causes of Heatstroke: The main causes of Heatstroke  are related to poor cooling of the body. Some situations that can cause this are:

  • Excessive physical activity in a hot and humid environment;
  • Prolonged sun exposure using inappropriate clothing, which can occur in military service in the sun , miners and workers, for example.

The most prone individuals are infants, the elderly, bedridden individuals and in patients with mental illness or severe heart disease.

Symptoms of Heat Stroke: These are the main symptoms of Heat Stroke :

  • Headache , dizziness and feeling of discomfort.
  • Agitation and confusion.
  • Hot, red and dry skin.
  • Rapid decrease in response level.
  • Pulse agitated.
  • Body temperature above 40°C.

Diagnosis: The diagnosis of hospitalization is based on its symptoms, which can vary according to the severity of this disease.

Treatments: Cooling the body and good hydration are the best means of treatment for heatstroke . In more serious cases, it is necessary to send the person with Intermation  to an emergency room urgently.

Heat stroke  also causes symptoms of dehydration, dizziness and vomiting, and should be treated quickly, so here’s what to do in case of heat stroke .

Prevention: The only way to prevent heatstroke  is to avoid staying in hot places for a long period of time, and avoiding being exposed to the sun .
