Home remedy to get rid of acne quickly

Acne is caused when tiny holes in the skin  , known as hair follicles, become blocked. Sebaceous glands are small glands found near the surface of the skin . The glands are attached to hair follicles, which are tiny holes in your skin from which an individual hair grows.

The sebaceous glands lubricate the hair and skin to keep it from drying out. They do this by producing an oily substance called sebum.

In Acne , the glands start to produce too much sebum. Excess sebum mixes with dead skin cells and both substances form a plug in the follicle. If the connected follicle is close to the surface of the skin , it protrudes outward. Alternatively, the plugged follicle can be opened to the skin , creating a blackhead .

Normally harmless bacteria that live on the skin can contaminate and infect clogged follicles, causing papules, pustules, nodules, or cysts.

Acne in women:

More than 80% of adult acne cases occur in women. It is believed that many cases of Acne are caused by the changes in hormone levels that many women have at certain times.

These include:

  • Periods – some women have a breakout just before their period.
  • Pregnancy – many women have acne at this time, usually during the first three months of pregnancy ;
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome – a common condition that can cause acne breakouts, weight gain and the formation of small cysts inside the ovary.

How long does acne last?

Acne is most prevalent during puberty and is often mild, tending not to last long beyond adolescence. In some cases, acne can last for years beyond puberty;

while untreated acne lasts for about five years before dissipating, some deal with acne well into adulthood as well.

What can I do with acne?

To help prevent oil buildup that can contribute to breakouts, wash your face once or twice a day with mild soap and warm water . Don’t rub your face with a towel

If you wear makeup or sunscreen, make sure it’s labeled “non-comedogenic” or “non-acnegenic.” This means it won’t clog pores and contribute to acne .

Acne is not really helped by the sun. While a tan can temporarily make acne breakouts appear less severe, it won’t help it go away permanently — and some people find that the oils their skin produces after being in the sun make this condition worse.
