10 homemade recipes to eliminate melasma

Melasma , or chloasma , is a pigmentary disorder characterized by dark patches on the skin , particularly on the temples and forehead, which can vary in intensity. They are usually larger than one centimeter and occur more often in women during hormonal changes such as pregnancy and menopause. The spots have a brownish tone (brown), in different intensities, and irregular shape. In addition, they can appear on both sides of the face, symmetrically.

Such dysfunction is a chronic disorder, which must have continuous treatment and prevention, because, even when it improves, it can easily get worse when care is not taken. It is not an exclusively female condition, however, the number of men who suffer from Melasma  is much lower compared to women, in a ratio of 9 women to 1 man. Importantly, Melasma  has nothing in common with melanoma ( skin cancer ), sharing only a few risk factors. So, check out  the 10 Home Recipes to Eliminate Melasma:

1. Homemade melasma anti-spot mask recipe:

Mix two tablespoons of powdered milk, 4 tablespoons of bee honey and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice until you form a homogeneous paste. Apply on the face and let it act for 20 minutes. Wash and apply a layer of plain yogurt. Let it act for another 10 minutes and rinse.

2. Eggplant:

There are different ways to enjoy the health benefits of this vegetable for your skin . For example, make a mask.


  • eggplant ;
  • 4 cups of water (1 liter).


  • Wash the eggplant  and cut it into four pieces.
  • Put it in a pan along with the water and cook until it softens.
  • Remove from heat and extract the pulp from the eggplant  to make a paste.
  • When cool or warm, apply this paste to your face.
  • Let it act for 15 minutes and remove with the cooking water.

3. Onion and vinegar:

Grind an onion and mix it with a little vinegar. Apply on the stain and let it act for 15 minutes. If it burns or irritates, wash immediately.

4. Lemon Parsley Lotion:

This citric acid is used to remove all kinds of blemishes from the skin . So it can be very helpful in cases of Melasma . In turn, parsley also reduces the marks caused by this condition. Do not forget to do this treatment at night, as the lemon , when in contact with the sun, can make the situation worse.


  • The juice of 1 lemon ;
  • 1 handful of parsley.


  • Squeeze the lemon  and wash the parsley.
  • Remove the stems from the parsley and place the leaves in the blender jar.
  • Add the lemon juice and mix well.
  • Apply to blemishes on the face, previously washed and dried.
  • After 15 minutes, rinse with warm water.

5. Hydrogen peroxide:

Apply a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide to your face before going to bed.

6. Eggplant:

Cut an eggplant into slices and remove the pulp. Make a plaster and place it on the skin . Let it act for 15 minutes and remove with water. You can perform the process 3 times a week.

7. Grapes Mask:

This little fruit has many antioxidants and nutrients that improve the health and appearance of the skin .


  • 10 grapes ;
  • ½ cup of water (125 ml).


  • Wash the grapes , cut them in half and remove the seeds.
  • Place them in the blender cup and add water.
  • Mix until you get a paste.
  • Wash your face with mild soap and apply the mask in circular motions.
  • Let it act for 25 minutes and remove with fresh water.

8. Black Balm:

4 or 5 drops will suffice. Add them to an egg white. Mix well and apply twice a day, morning and night.

9. Carrots and eggs:

It’s a great way to take advantage of the nutrients in eggs and the antioxidants in carrots . Repeat this treatment 3 times a week.



  • Peel the carrot  and cut it into cubes.
  • Add it to the blender cup along with the eggs.
  • Beat well to form a homogeneous paste.
  • Apply to clean face with circular movements.
  • Leave for half an hour and then rinse with warm water.

10. Banana:

Mash a banana and place the puree on the stained areas for 15 minutes. Repeat the process four times a week. Remove with warm water.
