Healthy foods for healthy skin These foods are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that strengthen the skin and increase collagen in addition to being rich in  vitamins A and E rich in antioxidants that eliminate toxins.

Furthermore, the skin is the largest organ in the human body, covering its entire outer surface. In addition, there are two types of skin: the glabrous epidermis that is hairless, such as the hands, feet, and soles of the feet, and the hairy epidermis that makes up most of the epidermis.

The layer we can see is the epidermis, a type of epithelial tissue. Its main function is to protect the body and maintain body temperature, and it is made up of 4 types of cells, among which the melanocyte stands out.

The melanocyte is located deep in the epidermis, and is responsible for producing a pigment called melanin, which spreads to the top of the epidermis, giving it its brownish hue. Dark-skinned individuals have the same number of melanocytes as paler-skinned people.

The difference lies in the amount of melanin that these same cells produce. Also, the greater the production of melanin, the darker the epidermis and vice versa. The dermis is much thicker than the epidermis, containing the hair roots, glands and nerve endings .
