Monounsaturated fats:  These are traditionally known to be healthier than saturated fats , and can help lower LDL cholesterol  levels.

Reduces Levels of Inflammation:  Monounsaturated fats are closely associated with reduced levels of inflammation throughout the body, as well as protection against cardiovascular disease . Plus, olive oil has 100 times more vitamin E , making it much more powerful for skin treatments and preventing oxidative stress.

In terms of cooking, as mentioned above, the pouring point is very important considering that oil can have an impact on your health. The pouring point of extra virgin olive oil is approximately 320 degrees Fahrenheit, 30 degrees lower than coconut oil.

Coconut Oil or Olive Oil – Which is Better: If you choose Extra Virgin Olive Oil (with low acidity) that effusion point jumps to over 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In other words, depending on the type of food you are cooking (and at what temperature), you must choose the type of oil with special care.

That said, coconut oil tends to increase the “ coconut ” flavor when cooked, which may not be the taste you want for your cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. Refined coconut oil tends to have less of that coconut taste , so it might be a better option.
