Candidiasis – What is it, Symptoms, Treatment. that should not be ignored as you have to be careful. Also,  Candidiasis , or moniliasis, is the name we give to the fungal infection (ringworm) caused by the Candida species of fungus. The most common form of candidiasis is a vaginal infection , called vaginal moniliasis or candidal vulvovaginitis.

Infections by this fungus, however, are not restricted to the female genital region, and may also affect other areas, such as the skin, mouth, esophagus, urinary tract and penis, just to mention a few examples.

What is Candidiasis: Candidiasis is an infection caused by the fungus Candida, usually Candida albicans. And it can affect the skin, nail, genitals, throat, bloodstream and mouth. Despite the greater number of cases in women, there are also cases of Candidiasis in men.

Causes of Candidiasis: The main cause of vaginal candidiasis  is the fungus Candida albicans. This fungus already exists in small amounts in the woman’s body and lives in balance with the vaginal flora . However, some factors can lead to its imbalance in the body, causing the fungus to reproduce and cause symptoms. As the female genital region is warm and humid, it is a more favorable region for the fungus to spread.

Symptoms: The most common signs for this disease are:

  • whitish discharge;
  • itching ;
  • Excoriations in the vulvar region;
  • Red coloring in the vagina .

Treatment: The treatment of the disease is done with Remedies for Candidiasis (check it out in the link) associated with day-to-day practices that help to prevent the growth of fungi.

  • Wearing underwear made of cotton and non-synthetic fabrics;
  • Do not perform constant washing or vaginal douches;
  • Do not use intimate deodorants;
  • Sexual intercourse only with a condom;
  • Avoid sexual intercourse as much as possible during treatment.
